Nursery Labels & Printers

Horticulture traditionally is the largest market of VanDerEng. For many year, we may call ourselves, a global leading producer. The variety of labels is huge with our clients in the seed selection business. Whether it is the development of plants, vegetables or flowers. Both for the selection of seeds as for breeders it is key to know which plant is located where, the origin of the plant, which supplements have been added and so forth.

Subcommittee on Livestock and Horticulture the producers are responsible for the purchase of tags. We phased in the program over time.

In the past few weeks I have discussed companies that produce bacteria to improve crop health , conveyor belts for poultry producers , and devices to scan human hearts for defects. Hancock Horticulture Services, Inc. Headquartered in Kodak, Tennessee, Hancock Horticulture buys many of its potted plants from growers out west and sends them to retailers on consignment. They merely house them, and only when a plant is sold does Hancock get paid. As a wholesale distributor, Hancock Horticulture uses Fishbowl Warehouse to keep track of their inventory, reorder products when they get low, track shipments, and much more. Expect to find many other examples of diverse uses for inventory management software in the coming weeks right here on the Fishbowl Blog. Robert Lockard is a copywriter with Fishbowl. He writes for several blogs about inventory management, manufacturing, QuickBooks, and small business. Fishbowl is the 1-requested manufacturing and warehouse management software for QuickBooks users.

In the agriculture and horticulture sector, it is essential to identify and trace production, from the origin of the crops to the final consumer. The producer needs to identify and track their product packaging and the wholesaler or exporter can automatically control all entries and exits to the points of sale. Track and trace is also applied for production, so that containers or pallets with freshly harvested fruit and vegetables are identified and traced from the origin until its sale. RFID makes it possible to track the entire product throughout its distribution chain, guaranteeing the origin, quality and information to the end customer. The consumer can access through the QR code printed on the RFID tag all the traceability information of the product, know its origin and all the information associated not only with production, but also with distribution, sale and food safety.

The sad thing is, there are easy and affordable platforms out there than can do away with the pencil and paper and make these processes so much easier. In the process, they can bring your business into the modern era, with plenty of room for growth and expansion. They need robust, proven technology that can take a beating. Fortunately, this technology exists: radio-frequency identification, or RFID. Now, many more RFID products are being employed in more ways than ever before in horticulture — including some products designed more-or-less specifically for the industry. Because a large tree-wholesaling operation may have vastly different RFID and tech-integration needs than a small business that sells perennials at retail, answers to questions like these can help horticulture-RFID specialists begin to conceptualize individualized solutions.
