What makes indoor plants so unique?
Indoor plants not only need care, but their natural habitat is also different than the one outside. Plants are used to live in different conditions, but also need to adapt to indoor conditions. For this they adapt to the indoor environment. In particular, they change their physiology, morphology, growth and the way they absorb nutrients. If they are grown in an unsuitable, too nutrient rich or moist environment they may suffer serious consequences.
Why indoor plants are so special?
There are many indoor plants and options to select from. Depending on your needs and preferences, the choice of an indoor plant can be varied. It can be cacti, succulents or plants. It can be house plants in general or the specific one. Some plants are hardier and need higher water and humidity conditions, while some are more sensitive to dryness and need higher nutrient availability. This also depends on the plant species. The care for indoor plants is very different from the care for outdoor plants. For indoor plants we need to make sure they receive the appropriate environment and care. The following plant care tips, which are suitable for indoor plants, are the best choice to guarantee that your indoor plants are healthy and survive and prosper.
Watering indoor plants
When watering indoor plants, we need to be careful that we do not over-water them, as this can have serious consequences. Plants react to rain with the opening of their stomata, which allows air to enter the leaves. The higher the water level, the more water gets absorbed and plants will grow.
Plants should have a soil depth of about 2-3 cm, depending on the plant. If you have plants in an aquarium or a bowl, we recommend to use the water which was used in the water condition of your plants (e.g. the plant leaves were green before the watering). For the water to be of good quality, no additives (e.g. sand, gravel or salt) should be used. If necessary, use water that contains additives.
If your plants are in a pot, we recommend not to water them for a long time or too often. Too frequent watering will dry up the pot and plants. We advise to wait until the pot is dry before you water the plants.
It is important to provide moisture and nutrients for your plants. If you use a fertilizer, water the plants at the same time. We recommend to use high-quality fertilizers, as too much fertilizer can be harmful to your plants. Make sure the fertilizer does not contain fertilizers that will be harmful to your plants (e.g. fish emulsion). The best way is to use a water soluble fertilizer. If you do not have a water soluble fertilizer, add a 1/3 of the amount of fertilizer as a liquid fertilizer. Do not use both a water soluble and a liquid fertilizer in the same pot, as it will be too much for the plants.
To grow healthy plants, you should understand how to water indoor plants. We recommend to use a hydroponic system. An alternative to a hydroponic system is a water-saving system. It is necessary to clean the water from the system regularly and to replace the filters when they get clogged.

The use of plastic is a great part of indoor gardening. We used plastic to make a vertical plastic greenhouse as we were short on space. We used two pieces of plastic as sides and two pieces for roof and roof-cover. They are great pieces of plastic to use in the indoor garden.
