Pinata Farms recognised in business awards

It's a place where fresh, local ingredients are appreciated, community is valued and our farmers, bakers and makers cherished and treated as friends. Lucky for us our fresh produce is paired with beautiful scenery and iconic views. Our restaurants, cafes, breweries, and bars are nestled in some of the most scenic bayside and hinterland locations. On this long weekend journey, we first take you to the bayside, straight out of the bay and fresh off the trawler then we venture into the hinterland, for a scenic drive and a visit to some award winning restaurants.

So, clear your diary and put on your stretchy pants. Here's how to make the most of three days in Moreton Bay. If you're like us and get a little giddy at the thought of chomping down into a sun drenched, freshly picked strawberry, straight from the bush then you will be berry excited for Day 1.

Meet the farmer and walk alongside them as you pick your very own strawberries at Rolin Farms. As the closest farm north of Brisbane and just off the Bruce Highway, Rolin Farms is the perfect start to your long weekend. In less than an hour from Brissy find yourself frolicking in the winter sun, with a cane basket in hand and the smell of sweet strawberries in the air.

Short on time? Duck in and grab some freshly picked and packed strawberries, ice-cream, jam or honey from their farm shop. Kickstart the evening with a bevvy and a tray of oh-so-tasty oysters waterfront at Sandstone Point Hotel 's very own The Oyster Shed.

Whether you prefer your oysters with a red wine vinaigrette, with ginger, chilli and lime, kilpatrick style or with a fresh lemon wedge, we promise you will be impressed when you shuck, sip and slurp Moreton Bay's best molluscs. If you're not an oyster lover…don't stress. The Oyster Shed also serves fish and chips, crab, prawns, calamari and burgers too! Blue Dog Farm is a small market garden growing fresh produce naturally.

They grow from locally sourced seed that is organic, open pollinated and often heirloom. Tended by hand, there are no artificial pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers used in the farming. Stop by for some fresh fruit and vegetables before making your way five minutes down to road to Ocean View Wineries.

Nestled in the green hills of Mount Mee, Ocean View Winery boasts stunning vistas, cellar door experiences, handcrafted wine, elegant food, beautiful tasting platters and craft beer. Ocean View Winery produces estate grown hand-crafted wines which can be paired with locally-produced artisan eats at the a la carte restaurant for a well-rounded hinterland experience.

During the cooler months, step out onto their lawn for a vino by a fire pit pictured above. Don't get lost dancing in the vines and forget to visit the providore. The fun does not end there. Take a bottle home and enjoy an award-winning drop from the comfort of your own couch. We highly recommend the viognier, a subtle symphony of passion fruit and violets with bubbles to carry the fruitiness across the palette. Spend a leisurely afternoon drive through the hinterland. We suggest stopping off at the small towns of Dayboro and Mount Glorious before making your way to Samford for dinner at Pause Samford.

End day two of your foodie adventure with a decadent meal at Pause Samford. As a landmark restaurant on the Moreton Bay dining landscape, Pause is set in the heart of Samford. Sip on a juice, snack on a bagel and start the day ocean side at the Redcliffe Markets. Stroll down Redcliffe Parade and pick up some fresh produce to take home with you make sure you have an esky or cooler bag handy.

Choose from Moreton Bay local vendors selling fresh strawberries, mushrooms, honey, herbs, fruit, veges and baked goods. Once you have worked up an appetite shopping your way down Redcliffe Parade pull up a stump at Flock Eatery for a wholesome breaky.

With a recently renovated space, Flock offers fresh, tasty meals all year round. For some of the level 2 exams we are now fully booked for all the spaces we can offer restricted unfortunately due to COVID precautions and I have spoken to the RHS about other centres. Not many colleges are offering to take externals at all though Chichester has hired extra space for exams but the venue that the RHS have organised at the Bath and West showground has a very large capacity still. If you aren't able to travel there, please don't panic if you can't sit exams in February - there will be further exam rounds in June , February and June and almost certainly FebruaryOnce COVID restrictions are lifted the pressure on space will be reduced and there will be more spaces at centres.
